Balancing the demands of work, managing house responsibilities, schooling, and entertaining children, or facing unexpected hardship can be challenging.  Refer to the San Mateo County Office of Education’s family-specific resources page for a range of resources, which is updated regularly. The Child Mind Institute also offers resources, including telehealth support parent support groups, articles, and webinars.


Meal Access/Distribution

Families who qualify for free and reduced lunch continue to have access to daily meals that are distributed via bus route while in Shelter in Place.

La Entrada counselors Jennifer Montalvo and Vivian Tavernakis are available to support students in the areas of academic achievement or personal/social development and to facilitate interventions for student success.

Adolescent Counseling Service

For Students: ACS is continuing to offer individual counseling to students at La Entrada via HIPAA compliant Telehealth means. If a student is needing short-term, immediate sessions ACS is still accepting new students and will continue to do so. Parents can self-refer their student to ACS services by emailing catherine@acs-teens.org or calling 415.967.3186.

For Parents: ACS is offering a weekly support group for parents via Zoom. The group is held Thursdays from 7 - 8:30 and to attend parents are required to RSVP to Catherine Wohlend via email at catherine@acs-teens.org by Thursday evenings at 5pm.

ACS encourages parents to reach out at any time; if parents have any questions or concerns concerning the mental health of their child, ACS will do their best to find support for students and their families.
